Deviation Actions
If there's anyone who still keeps up with what I do, don't forget to check out my FA from time to time! I'll be using that for WIPs and sketches that don't really fit on dA, and other stuff besides. I'm still trying to decide how much overlap I want with my galleries (some of which are not linked, sorry!) and which galleries are best left abandoned.
Commission Questions and Stuff
So I've been thinking about this a bit lately, mostly due to RL complicating..
I look at others' galleries and commission sheets, but I see widely-varying degrees of pricing and success. I have no idea where I stand in relation; how far is my art from being adequate for taking commissions? Also, what prices would be appropriate? Would there even be any interest if I opened for them? I'd prefer advice from artists experienced with taking commissions for the pricing, but I'll take whatever input I can get — please let me know what you think!
A Response to RadiantCharizard
In response to this by RadiantCharizard (https://www.deviantart.com/radiantcharizard) because the person has decided to block me after the first thing I've ever said to her rather than give me a chance to make a rebuttal. So much for "respecting opinions". It'd be great if this could find its way to her:
You completely missed my point. I neither saw nor care about the tattoo that you removed, and you were not necessarily wrong to remove it from a practical standpoint; it's the posturing that you've assumed on the subject that is the problem, and if you'd take the time to read my previous comment in a less emotionally-charged way, you'd see that I'm far more interested in how you ap
Watermarks and stuff.
Something I've been noticing a lot is the prevalence of watermarks... Specifically, watermarks that obscure or distort important visuals of the art they're intended to protect, tending toward unnecessary sizes covering much of the image — not just little ones in unimportant places.
While I personally feel that many deviants severely overreact on the matter, I still understand their desire to avoid mis-attribution; a thief claiming your art as their own — or attempting to impersonate you, in severe examples — can have a negative impact on your reputation and success as an artist, and evoke intense feelings of possessiveness.
Gave up and stuff
Giving up on drawing. I might doodle something occasionally, but I've decided it's just not worth the effort. Not like I actually put that effort in anyway, as I've got a whole bunch of requests lying around that I never even worked on.
I might get around to some of those eventually, but don't bet on it.
Edit (Jan 26): Working on stuff again, this time with some actual determination. Yaaay. Maybe I'll get something done, now.. Just not those aforementioned requests, because I have no idea what they were (feel free to remind me if you were left hanging).
